Natalia Subbotnikova [EH]
From: Jeff Bennett <jben nett@earthcon.com>
Sent: Thursday,August 27, 2015 3:50 PM
To: Natalia Subbotnikova [EH]
Cc: Becky Sundilson
Subject: Question regarding permits for new wells at Cove Contractors, Stockton, CA
Hi Natalia,
We need to install four extraction wells at the Cove Contractors landfill in Stockton to remove stranded water from the
landfill. This water seems to have built up over the years when the landfill was uncapped and is contributing to methane
production and inhibiting remedial efforts. We plan to drill to approximately 35-40 feet below surface grade and not
penetrate the bottom of the landfill. Regional water in the area is approximately 50 feet deep.
Our question is whether we need a permit for these wells since they are not encountering groundwater.
Thanks,
Jeffrey D.
