A <br /> 2. Meteorological Conditions <br /> The normal wind direction is from the northwest, blowing away from the bulk of the surrounding <br /> residences. <br /> 3. Complaint Response Protocol <br /> In the event a complaint is received, the operator will: <br /> 1. Go to the location of the complaint to verify that the odor reported is characteristic of <br /> and coming from our compost area. <br /> 2. If objectionable odors are found to be coming from the composting operation, the <br /> compost staff will resolve the problem in a timely manner. <br /> 3. Document the complaint and the action taken in the Compost Incident Log. <br /> 4. Design and Operational Procedures for Minimizing Odor <br /> In order to minimize the development of conditions that could lead to odor problems, the <br /> compost area has been designed to facilitate odor control. The following operational procedures <br /> were also designed with odor control in mind: <br /> A. Aeration <br /> Windrows will be turned in accordance with established composting regulations for pathogen <br /> reduction and odor control. <br /> B. Moisture Content <br /> Moisture will be added by water truck for dust control and to help the composting process. <br /> C. Drainage controls <br /> Water collected by rainfall will be pumped into Delicato Vineyards wastewater land application <br /> areas. <br /> 5. Contingency Plans <br /> A. Equipment <br /> In the event of equipment breakdown,Delicato Vineyards in-house mechanics will attempt a <br /> timely repair. Should this not be possible outside contractors will be called in to effect a repair. <br /> Finally Equipment would be rented if the need arose. <br /> B. Water <br /> Delicato owns a 1500-gallon water truck. Water is obtained from on-site wells. <br /> C. Power <br /> D. All equipment is powered by gasoline or diesel and refueled from on-site storage tanks. <br /> Page 2 of 2 <br />
