G. DESIGN CAPACITY
Currently, the site receives an average of 650 tons per day with daily peak loadings
of up to 800 tons per day. This material is dumped and processed at either the
17,000 square foot transfer station, the 45,000 square foot MRF, or the
composting facility. Further expansion at the MRF will add an additional 44,000
square feet to the existing 45,000 square foot building. The site is permitted to
process 2,000 tons per day of waste.
H. PEAK LOADINGS
Peak loading of 2000 tons per day is handled by the use of backup equipment and
additional trips to the landfill.
I. WASTE DISPOSAL
All non-marketable waste from the site is taken to designated county landfill sites.
Currently waste tires slated for disposal are handled in 2 different ways. Tires have
been ground on site and then disposed of through the transfer station to the landfill.
Tires have also been disposed of using the services of Total Tire Recycling (TTR)
who provide bin service and haul all sizes and types of used tires off for reuse,
resale, and disposal. In addition, California Waste Removal Systems has applied
for a grant with the Waste Board to fund Experimental Programs using tires in
various ways as alternatives to disposal. These experimental programs are being
done with the firm of Integrated Recycling Inc.
J. WASTEWATER
All wastewater is disposed of in City of Lodi sanitary sewers. Berms are in place
to keep the water that has come in contact with refuse segregated to sanitary sewers.
There is no on site processing of waste water.
K.
