i
8) Fire suppression - On site fire hydrants and hoses are available to put out any
i possible fires. All areas of the premises and each piece of equipment has a fire
extinguisher and the Lodi Fire Department is available if needed.
9) Dust - The facility is paved to prevent dust generation. The incoming material
may be misted if necessary to minimize dust.
iThe supply of material to be processed is anticipated to be 50,000 tons annually. The
supply includes leaves, yard and garden waste, food processing waste, grape pumice and
grape stems. Exact volumes of each type of material are variable, however, residential
1 yard and garden waste will make up the majority of the material to be composted. The
balance of materials will be from the commercial and residential gardeners and low
volume wood waste producers (such as construction and cabinet makers). The flow of
the material is expected to be static at 160 tons per day, five to seven days per week.
No sludge or liquid waste will be used in the compost process.
1
i
1
1
i
1
s9-18211112RosU 17
Jamary 1992
