INSPECTIONS <br /> The hazardous screening ram is divided into three phases; an initial <br /> a waste g p ro g <br /> screening at the facility entrance, a visual inspection of the waste by the station <br /> personnel as the waste is being sorted and random load checking. <br /> PHASE I Initial Waste Screening Program <br /> Highly visible signs prohibiting the disposal of hazardous waste at the station <br /> are posted at the entrance. <br /> When possible, loads are visually inspected at the site entrance. The gate <br /> attendant is trained to recognize items that are not accepted at the station. A <br /> list of unacceptable items is posted in the gate house and is made available to <br /> the haulers. <br /> If hazardous materials are detected in a load, the gate keeper shall notify the <br /> driver that the load contains hazardous materials and that the station is <br /> prohibited from accepting hazardous waste. <br /> Before a vehicle is turned away from the site the following information shall be <br /> recorded; <br /> 1. Date <br /> 2. Time <br /> 3. The hauling firm or vehicle owner's name <br /> 4. The driver's name <br /> 5. The company telephone number <br /> 6. Vehicle license plate number <br /> 7. Source of the waste as stated by the vehicle driver <br /> This information will be recorded on the data form shown in Attachment 1. This <br /> form will be signed by both the driver and the load-checking inspector. <br /> This information can be used to identify the hauler if the load is illegally <br /> dumped. <br /> 3 <br />
