• 3.1.1.2 TRAINING <br /> Station personnel attend regularly scheduled training meetings. In accordance <br /> with 14 CCR, Section 17410.3, these training meetings emphasize proper station <br /> operation and maintenance, hazardous waste recognition and screening, <br /> environmental and nuisance controls, use of equipment, safety procedures, and <br /> emergency situation procedures. In addition, all employees receive regular <br /> safety tips and training, as well as opportunities for formal education or <br /> equipment qualification instruction when necessary. Training sessions occur <br /> monthly with periodic "tailgate" meetings. A record of personnel training is <br /> maintained at the CVWSMRF/TS main administration office for reference during <br /> facility inspections. <br /> 3.1.2 STATION MAINTENANCE <br /> In accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17408.6, preventative maintenance and <br /> station repairs are conducted as necessary. Station personnel have been <br /> instructed to report any defective or deteriorated conditions to their supervisor. <br /> In addition, the Plant-Engineer frequently monitors the facility for defective or <br /> deteriorated conditions. When a problem is identified prompt repair will be <br /> implemented. <br /> 3.1.2.1 CLEANING <br /> The transfer station building and facility grounds are cleaned of loose materials <br /> and litter each operating day in accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17407.2(a)(1). <br /> A clean-up crew is dispatched regularly to provide general housekeeping at the <br /> facility. The crew is responsible for the collection of any off-site litter which may <br /> have been generated by the facility. Litter pick-up within the facility yard and <br /> around the station is conducted on a continual basis to prevent the tracking or <br /> off-site migration of waste materials in accordance with 14 CCR, Section <br /> 17407.2(b). <br /> Storage bins are cleaned on an as-needed basis. The transfer trailer load out <br /> area is cleaned on a regular basis. The transfer station tipping floor is cleaned on <br /> a regular basis. The MRF tipping floor is cleaned on a regular basis by running a <br /> street sweeper over the floor. The in-floor conveyor and sorting line are cleaned <br /> routinely using a high pressure air hose and water.
