The balers are located in the MRF <br /> facility (see Figure 6). <br /> 3.1.4.4 MATERIALS REMOVAL <br /> Materials removal operations at the station are conducted on an <br /> ongoing basis. When a full shipment of recyclable materials is ready it <br /> is transported to a secondary materials market. The amount of <br /> materials and frequency of removal depends upon the composition of <br /> the recyclables, the amount of recyclable material recovered and the <br /> efficiency of sorting. <br /> During normal operating conditions municipal solid waste is processed <br /> the same working day. Mixed waste that is not processed by the end <br /> of the working day is left on the transfer station tip floor until it can be <br /> properly loaded into transfer trailers the next working day. In no case <br /> are materials allowed to be stored on-site for a period of time which <br /> may result in the creation of a public health hazard, nuisance or fire <br /> hazard in accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17409.3(c). <br /> 3.1.5 BURNING WASTES AND OPEN BURNING <br /> In accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17407.1(a), if burning wastes are <br /> inadvertently received at the CVVVSMRF= CVWS they are separated <br /> from other wastes to a safe area away from the unloading, transfer and <br /> processing areas where it can be spread and extinguished. Open <br /> burning of solid waste at the CVWSMRF CVWS is prohibited in <br /> accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17407.1(b). <br /> 3.1.6 HAZARDOUS, LIQUID AND SPECIAL WASTE EXCLUSION <br /> In accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17407.5 (b), the operator has <br /> implemented control measures as necessary to protect public health, <br /> safety and the environment. The operator conducts hazardous waste <br /> screening in the form of a load-checking program.
