z
KLE/MFELDER
Bright people.Right Solutions
by CEQA and to describe feasible mitigation measures that would be necessary
avoid the significant effects or reduce them to a less than significant level. In the
event that the Initial Study does not identify significant effects, or identifies
mitigation measures that would reduce all of the significant effects of the project
to a less than significant level, the agency may prepare a Negative Declaration.
If this is not the case, the agency must prepare an Environmental Impact Report
(EIR); the agency may also decide to proceed directly with the preparation of an
EIR without preparation of an Initial Study.
The proposed development is a "project" as defined by CEQA and is not CEQA-
exempt. The City of Stockton has determined that the project involves the
potential for significant environmental effects. The purpose of this Initial Study is
to describe the proposed project, briefly describe the environmental setting of the
project, discuss the potential environmental effects of the project, and identify
mitigation measures needed to reduce the potentially significant environmental
effects of the project to a less than significant level.
Scope of Initial Study
This Initial Study evaluates the project's potential to result in "significant"
environmental effects, as defined by CEQA, in the following issue areas. Where
there are feasible mitigation measures that would avoid or reduce significant
effects, they are identified, and the level of significance of the environmental
effect, with the application of the mitigation measure(s) is identified.
Aesthetics
Agricultural Resources
Air Quality
Biological Resources
1 Cultural Resources
Geology and Soils
Global Climate Change
Hazards and Hazardous Materials
Hydrology and Water Quality
Land Use and Planning
Mineral Resources
Noise
Population and Housing
Public Services
Recreation
Transportation/Traffic
121339/ST011 R226 1-2 October 14, 2011
Copyright 2011 Kleinfelder
