LA <br />Pentachlorophenol MP) <br />PCP is a light brown solid with a pungent odor when hot. <br />Exposure to PCP can cause irritation of the eyes and respiratory <br />tract. Bronchitis has been reported to occur. Systemic effects <br />from a large exposure can include weakness, loss of appetite, <br />nausea, vomiting, shortness of breath, chest pain,* excessive <br />sweating, headache, and dizziness: The risk of serious <br />intoxication is greater in hot weather. Persons with decreased <br />liver or kidney functions are more susceptible to PCP poisoning. <br />Commercial PCP may be contaminated with dioxin, a more toxic <br />compound. <br />The PEL for PCP is 0.5 Mg/m3. <br />r, <br />2 <br />M <br />
