0
WORKPLACEPREVENTION
s
Forward Landfill
Manteca, California
1.0 POLICY
Forward Landfill (Forward) has instituted and administered a comprehensive and continuous
occupational Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) for all employees. The health and
safety of individual employee, whether in the field, plant or office takes precedence over all
other concerns. Management's goal is to prevent accidents; to reduce personal injury and
occupational illness; and to comply with all safety and health standards.
2.0 RESPONSIBILTY
The IIPP administrator, Don Litchfield, has the authority and responsibility for implementing
the provision of this program for Forward. All managers and supervisors are responsible for
implementing and maintaining the IIPP in their work areas and for answering questions
about the IIPP. A copy of this IIPP is available from each manager and supervisor.
3.0 EMPLOYEE COMPLIANCE
Management is responsible for ensuring that all safety and health policies and procedures are
clearly communicated and understood by all employees. Managers and supervisors are
expected to enforce the rules fairly and uniformly.
All employees are responsible for using safe work practice, for following all directives,
policies and procedures, and for assisting in maintaining a safe work environment.
The system of ensuring that all workers comply with safe work practices includes the
following procedures:
1. Informing workers of the provisions of the IIPP;
2. Evaluating the safety performances of all workers;
WIIP-1
(z:\projects\allied waste\forward\resource recovery facility\permitting services\2009 iipp\iipp replacement pg wiip-l.doc; 9/2000; Rev 1: 8/4/2009)
