Lincoln Street <br /> Stockton, CA 95203 <br /> RE: Storage and Disposal of Waste Tires at Existing Solid Waste Facilities <br /> The new non-e'mergency regulations for waste tire storage and disposal will be <br /> impacting all solid waste facilities. After January 1, 1993 waste tires may not be <br /> landfilled unless they are permanently reduced in volume prior to disposal by shredding <br /> or other methods approval by the Local Enforcement Agency (CCR Section 17355). <br /> This requirement shall not apply to: <br /> 1. Waste tires inadvertently received which are commingled with municipal solid <br /> waste that arrives in commercial loads, where the waste tires comprise less <br /> than one percent (1%) by weight of the total load. <br /> 2. Waste tires that inadvertently arrive in homeowner delivered household loads <br /> of mixed waste and are not readily removable from the waste stream. <br /> 3. Oversized waste tires, 17.5 X 24 or larger in size received prior to January 1, <br /> 1994. After January 1, 1994 oversized waste tires cannot be landfilled. <br /> Permitting <br /> The operator of a solid waste facility that stores, stockpiles-or accumulates waste <br /> tires shall modify or revise the solid waste facility permit (CCR Section 184200 (a) <br /> (1))• <br /> This requirement shall not apply to: <br /> 1. Facilities using fewer than 5000 waste tires for agricultural purposes and those <br /> tires have been altered. <br /> A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services <br />
