The Lovelace Transfer Station is a large volume transfer <br /> station. The facility is located on Lovelace Road, 1/4 <br /> mile east of Airport Way, Section 18 TIS, R7E, MDB, and <br /> M. , Manteca, California, San Joaquin County. The county <br /> of San Joaquin is the owner of the facility. The <br /> operator is the Department of Public Works, San Joaquin <br /> County. <br /> B. The transfer station is located on 5. 06 acres. A site <br /> location map is included in Appendix A. <br /> C. The station has a computerized scale, a scale building, <br /> public and commercial unloading areas, loading pit, <br /> recycling area, and hazardous waste storage locker. <br /> D. Standard operating procedure is that incoming vehicles <br /> dump waste materials adjacent to loading pit. Loaders <br /> push the wastes into the loading pit where transfer <br /> station vehicles are located. A backhoe mounted above <br /> the loading pit spreads and compacts the waste in the <br /> trailer to maximize the amount of waste hauled by each <br /> vehicle.
