Box 2009 • (1601 East Hazelton Avenue) • Stockton, California 95201
(209) 468-3400
California Integrated Waste Management Board
Permits Section
1020 Ninth Street
Sacramento, California 95814
Re: COVER LETTER #39 -AA -008 Lovelace Transfer Station, San Joaquin
County
This solid waste facility permit has been modified even though the
"average daily tonnage of 500 tons" (1983 permit) has been
increased to a daily peak tonnage of 700 tons. The station has
been limited to an "average" daily tonnage since 1978. It is
difficult to calculate what "average10 daily tonnage means in terms
of "peak" daily tonnage. The LEA and the CIWMB staff agreed that
a provision within the 1977 Report of Station granted an allocation
of 700 tons a day for the calendar year of 1987. A conversion
factor of 500 lbs per cubic yard for 360 days/year was used.
The 5 -year permit review dated March 21, 1990, for Lovelace
Transfer Station stated that it is appropriate to approve a daily
peak load of 700 tons for a modified solid waste facility permit
for this transfer station.
Enclosed is the "Lovelace Transfer Station Employee Work Rules"
which condition this solid waste facility.
Sincerely,
( c
Ed Padilla, Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist
A Division of San Joaquin C finny Hcalth Care Scr%iccc
