File No. 20-3668-01 K L E I N F E L D E R January 7, 1993 REPORT GEOTECEMCAL INVESTIGATION PROPOSED RENOVATIONEXPANSION LOVELACE ROAD TRANSFERSTATION SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CALIEFORNIA ODUCTION In this report are presented the results of a geotechnical investigation performed for the proposed renovation and expansion of the Lovelace Road Transfer Station facility located on Lovelace Road in San Joaquin County, California. A plot plan and vicinity map showing the approximate location of the proposed construction are presented on Plate A-1 of the appendix. We understand that the proposed office and maintenance building will consist of an approximate 12,000 square foot, one-story, - and steel-framed structure surrounded by access drives, parking areas and landscaping. Also proposed is an approximate 120,000 square foot transfer area enclosed by a steel structure. The facility will include access roads and paved parking areas for commercial and public access. Four scales across the site are planned as well as various paved areas for recycling operations. For purposes of this report, we have assumed that the office and maintenance building will contain relatively light to moderate structural loads. Additional details of the proposed construction are not known to our firm at this time. PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF STIGATION The purpose of our geotechnical investigation has been to explore and evaluate the surface and subsurface soil conditions at the site and to provide recommendations for the items listed blow. The scope of our services was outlined in a subconsultant agreement between HDR and Kleinfelder, Inc., dated November 1 , 1992. Our services were initiated with your verbal authorization. This report contains the following information: 1. Plot plan and vicinity map showing the approximate locations of the field explorations performed for this investigation 2.
