Werner, Principle Investigator <br /> Introduction <br /> i <br /> This report presents the results of a cultural resources investigation conducted on 6 November <br /> 1992 by Sarah Moran and Roger H. Wemer, Archaeological Services, Inc. (ASI). Mr. Werner, <br /> the principal investigator, has a Master of Arts degree in Anthropology, is a member of the <br /> Society of Professional Archaeologists, and has 16 years of archaeological field experience in <br /> California. Ms. Moran, an archaeological technician, is a senior in the Bachelor of Arts degree <br /> program in Anthropology at California State University, Sacramento, and has over two years of <br /> field experience in California <br /> An archaeological study of the above-referenced property was conducted at the request of Bruce <br /> Baracco, of Baracco and Associates Architecture and Planning, on behalf of San Joaquin County <br /> Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division. The study was requested in order to expand <br /> the existing Lovelace Road Transfer Station onto 9.9 Acres of property adjacent to the facility. <br /> The purposes of the investigation, in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act <br /> (1970, rev. 1983), were (1) to identify and record all cultural resources, prehistoric or historic, <br /> within the project area; (2) make preliminary evaluations of their significance; and (3) to <br /> recommend procedures for mitigation or avoidance of potential impacts to all potentially <br /> significant, identified cultural resources. <br /> Prefield study indicated that no known prehistoric or historical archaeological sites had been <br /> identified on or adjacent to the property. The field survey was negative with respect to <br /> archaeological resources.
