The facility will reopen for
business on Wednesday, January 2, 2008.
To mitigate the impact of this closure, the following actions have been or will be taken:
• Arrangements have been made with the County's Licensed/Franchised Collectors, the
City of Manteca, and the City of Ripon to utilize alternate disposal sites (i.e. Foothill
Sanitary Landfill, North County RC&SL, and Forward Landfill).
• We started effective Thursday, November 15, 2007, handing out the attached flyer to
customers. The flyer provides information about the closure as well as information about
alternate disposal sites.
• The week of December 3rd, electronic message boards will be placed at the site to inform
customers of the closure.
• Press releases regarding the closure will be distributed to the local newspapers.
• County staff will be vigilante for illegal dumping along the roadways leading to the facility
and take corrective action as necessary.
• County staff will be on site during the closure and will be available to answer questions
from customers who may arrive at the site.
As a point of information, County staff will be on site during the closure working on various
projects (i.e. road repairs, painting, cleaning, maintenance, etc.).
In addition, on Sunday, December 16th, all the waste remaining at the site will be transferred to
the Foothill Sanitary Landfill and all Electronic and Universal Waste will be removed from the
tipping floor as well.
