1. When will the Lovelace MRF close? When will it open main?
Lovelace MRF will close after 5:00 pm. on Saturday, Dec 15, 2007. We plan to open the Lovelace again
on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 7:00 am.
2. Why is the Lovelace closing?
The Lovelace MRF, as it is now, has been in use almost every day since 1995. It is showing signs of age
and wear. It needs repair. We can repair it faster and safer if the MRF is closed.
3. What are you repairing?
Most of the work will be to the tipping floor at Lovelace. The west side (Commercial) and east side (Self
Haul) will be fixed with a harder blend of concrete made for these buildings. We will fix or replace the
metal plates along the sides of the tip floor. The center part of the floor does not need repair because
it is not used as much.
We will widen the sidewalk along the east side (Self Haul). This will give more space to unload vehicles
and sort items for recycling.
4. What is a tipping floor?
The tipping floor is the lowered "pit" inside of the Lovelace MRF where all items are tipped.
5. Will gate fees be increased to pay for the repairs?
No. The money for this work comes from a bond issued in 2003. Payment of the bond is part of gate
fee.
6. What do I do with my load that I usually take to the Lovelace?
You have four options (see maps on back for locations, phone numbers and operating hours):
Tracy -Delta Disposal Transfer Station
North County Recycling Center (N.C.R.C.)
30703 South MacArthur Drive
17720 East Harney Lane
Tracy, CA 95377
Lodi, CA 95240
Central Valley Disposal Transfer Station
Foothill Sanitary Landfill
1333 East Turner Road
6484 Waverly Road
Lodi, CA 95240
Linden, CA 95236
7. 1 only go to Lovelace and have not been to N.C.R.C. before? Will N.C.R.C. handle my business?
Yes. N.C.R.C. has the same type of building as Lovelace MRF. The cashiers at N. C. R. C. will be able to
help you. They will give you directions once you putt up to the gate. Commercial and Licensed haulers
regularly using Lovelace have been sent a letter via US Mail about account privileges.
8.
