DISC <br />adopted special regulations in 1991 [22 CCR <br />section 66266.1301 to encourage recycling of <br />used oil filters and to protect the public health, <br />safety, and the environment from the potential <br />hazards posed by disposal of used oil filters. <br />These requirements are directed primarily at <br />non -household generators of used oil filters, such <br />as businesses and used oil collection centers. <br />Used oil filters not managed as described in this <br />fact sheet, are required to be managed as a fully <br />• To report illegal disposal or management of <br />used oil: <br />• Your local Certified Unified Program <br />Agency. <br />• The Toxics Hotline 1 -800 -69 -TOXIC <br />(1-800-698-6942). <br />• The appropriate DISC Regional Office <br />(see map for phone numbers). <br />• For questions about operating a certified used <br />oil collection center, call the CIWMB at <br />(916) 255-2891. <br />regulated hazardous waste. Drained of all free-flowing oil. <br />2. Properly contained, labeled and stored. <br />3. Stored without exceeding allowed time <br />limits. <br />4. Transported to an allowed destination for <br />purposes of metal reclamation. <br />5.
