The operating area of the Transfer <br /> Station, including the Materials Recovery Facility, is approximately 10.6 acres. Structures within <br /> the LTS include the Materials Recovery Facility (in which most material recovery activities <br /> • occur), an Office and Maintenance Building (show on drawing) and related structures. <br /> The LTS has designated areas for unloading and transfer of solid waste from the refuse collectors <br /> and the general public, unloading of source separated recyclables, storage of recyclable materials, <br /> for wood waste, yard waste and electronics storage, for vehicle parking, hazardous waste storage <br /> from on-site refuse load checking activities, and for miscellaneous associated activities. <br /> The Materials Recovery Facility is designed to accommodate receipt of up to 1,959 tpd, which <br /> exceeds the present permit limit of 1,300 tpd. <br /> The facility was designed to process 1,280 vehicles per day(Draft and 1993 RSDI Section 5-6). <br /> 1.6.1 Scale House <br /> The scale house allows the weighing of incomings vehicles, collecting appropriate fees for <br /> unloading, and verification that the materials intended for unloading are acceptable. <br /> 1.6.2 Materials Recovery Facility <br /> The Materials Recovery Facility(MRF) consists of 120,000 square footrp e-engineered metal <br /> building. <br /> Lovelace MRF and Transfer Station Department of Public Works/Solid Waste Division <br /> Transfer Processing Report 4 County of San Joaquin-Revised 8/23/07 <br />
