Safety Mules f®r C & D and Inert Areas <br /> 1. Proper footwear and safety equipment such as hardhats, eye protection, safety <br /> vest and gloves are required at all times. <br /> 2. Operation of tractors and forklifts by trained personnel only. <br /> 3. Six foot rule applies when equipment is in use. No removal of debris while <br /> tractors or forklifts are in use. Tractor operator is to ensure all employees are out <br /> of area before tractor begins moving material. <br /> 4. Tractors will spread material for processing. Tractor will then be moved and shut <br /> down and then the processing of debris by employees will take place. <br /> 5. Any defects of equipment are reported to supervision immediately for inspection. <br /> 6. Do not leave tools,materials or other objects on the ground which might cause a <br /> hazard. <br /> 7. Observe the correct lifting position. Stand with your feet slightly apart, assume a <br /> squatting position with knees bent and tuck your chin. Tilt head forward, grasp <br /> the load with both hands and'gradually push with your legs. Keep your back <br /> straight and avoid abrupt movement. <br /> 8. When handling any hazardous material follow all safety procedures and use <br /> required safety equipment. <br /> 9. Equipment is to be repaired by mechanics only. <br /> 10. All work related injuries and accidents,no matter how minor,must be reported to <br /> your immediate supervisor. <br /> c <br />
