The facility's <br /> operations will have a design capacity of 7,972 tons per day — which may be <br /> expanded through use of improved technology for potential future expansions — <br /> but at this time the permitted peak capacity will remain 1,800 TPD. <br /> MSW <br /> "Municipal solid waste" means all putrescible and non-putrescible solid, semisolid <br /> wastes, including garbage, trash, refuse, paper, rubbish, ashes, Industrial wastes, <br /> demolition and construction wastes, abandoned vehicles and parts thereof, <br /> discarded home and industrial appliances, and other discarded solid and semisolid <br /> wastes. MSW is handled directly at the Transfer Facility upon receipt. MSW <br /> residuals from onsite processing operations is loaded into transfer trailers at the <br /> Transfer Facility for delivery to permitted landfill for disposal, generally to the Foothill <br /> Landfill in the County. <br /> Green Waste, Food material, and Co-Collected Organics <br /> "Green Waste" means any plant material that is separated at the point of <br /> generation that may contain up to 5.0 percent of physical contaminants by weight. <br /> Green waste includes, but is not limited to, yard trimmings, untreated wood <br /> wastes, natural fiber products, and construction and demolition wood waste. <br /> Green waste will be unloaded directly at the composting facility. This definition is <br /> provided as a generic, industry-accepted term and is not intended as equivalent to <br /> "green material" described in Title 14, Section 17852(a)(21), which may also be <br /> utilized in this document, is accepted at the facility, and also falls within the <br /> definition of green waste. <br /> "Food material" is source-separated food material collected from residences or <br /> commercial establishments which has been produced as a result of food <br /> production or food preparation operations. Food material is transferred directly into <br /> transfer trailers with green waste, or co-collected organics, for delivery to a <br /> permitted composting facility. <br /> Co-collected organics is green waste which includes food material from a co- <br /> collected residential and commercial green waste and food material program and <br /> cannot be unloaded within the bunker within the MRF Processing building, but <br /> must be directly unloaded at the Transfer Facility. <br /> 22 <br />
