conducted at the site; however there are intermittent creeks and seasonal wetlands at
the site.
Other Sources of Possible Odors Produced On-Site Other Than Manure:
Eggs: The waste eggs(cracked, chipped, blood spots, etc.)from the packing plant are
dumped into 55 gallon barrels. The surface area of the barrel is completely covered
with corn meal and sprayed in SKS premises with a tractor. They are located by the
residences, the processing plant, and any house that has a bathroom associated with it.
These systems are for human waste only. They are underground and pumped out as
needed by a commercial septic company.
CLIMATE CONDITIONS
Climate
San Joaquin County is characterized by hot dry summers and cool moist winters.
There is a high pressure area offshore that reduces the weather systems from entering
this area during the summer months. In the winter months the high pressure shifts
southward whereby allowing weather systems to enter this area producing moist cool
weather and frequent heavy fogs. The average annual precipitation consists of
approximately 17 inches per year, and usually occurs from the months of October
through May. The cool moist Pacific winds enter the county through the Carquinez
Straight gap.
5
