The cool moist Pacific winds enter the county through the Carquinez <br /> Straight gap. <br /> Wind Velocity and Direction <br /> Historical wind data indicates prevailing wind is from the northwest at approximately 8 <br /> miles per hour. High winds occur infrequently and are usually associated with the <br /> passage of winter storm systems out of the Pacific Ocean. <br /> MONITORING PROTOCOL <br /> There are approximately 30 people employed by the S.K.S., Brandt Road Poultry <br /> Facility, as well as 7 residences on-site. The number of delivery trucks entering and <br /> leaving the site is limited due to Bio-security of the poultry operation. <br /> The site is bound on the north by Knife River KRC Aggregate. Knife River KRC <br /> Aggregate does share a common boundary just north of the poultry facility. Knife <br /> River KRE is a few hundred feet north of the site and about half a mile from the <br /> composting facility. The ranch homes located south of the site. The closest home is <br /> approximately half a mile southeast of the composting facility. The remainder of the <br /> land around the site is in annual rangeland with no houses. <br /> ODOR MONITORING PROTOCOL <br /> Distance of Odor Receptors <br /> There are approximately 30 people employed by the S.K.S. Brandt Road Poultry <br /> Facility, as well as 7 residences on-site. S.K.S. employees and occupants of the on-site <br /> residences would be the first people exposed to any operational odors. The number of <br /> delivery trucks entering and leaving the site is limited due to Bio-security of the poultry <br /> operation. However,delivery truck drivers could also be exposed to any on-site odors. <br /> The site is bound on the north by Knife River KHE Aggregate. They are the closest <br /> off-site receptors of any odors, however the winds generally originate from their <br /> direction. Knife River KRC Aggregate does share a common boundary just north of <br /> the poultry facility. <br /> 6 <br />
