Due to changes in facility operations,facility manure management plan must be updated. Update manure management plan and submit to EI-ID by March 12,2016. Notes: • Facility has approximately 70k birds onsite. • Facility has 8 cage free houses. • The houses have a layer of pine shaving bedding and are cleaned between each cycle of birds (approx. 16 weeks) • Manure is hauled off by Bruce Mellor • Facility is no longer using the 2 lagoons onsite to manage manure. Facility is in the process of drying out the lagoons and removing the manure. The lagoons are currently being used to store excess rainwater which is pumped away from the chicken houses. • Water pump station has been secured with a fence. Eggs and debris material was observed in the station. Water pump station should be cleaned as needed to prevent fly breeding and odors. • Facility checks for mortality daily. Facility chars mortality daily for 30 mins,but will wait until the incinerator is full to incinerate mortality(1-1.5 weeks) • Facility contracts with New Tech Pest Control for vector control onsite. New Tech inspects the site once a week and replaces bait once a month. Bait stations were present outside all units. • No flies or fly breeding was observed. For fly control facility uses bait,sticky traps,and liquid traps. • Odors outside of the houses and near the lagoons were light. • Facility installed new tanks and pumps for both wells.
