Changes have been made to the facility since the previous manure management plan was submitted. Submit
an updated manure management plan and facility map.
2. Fly population has decreased since previous inspection, but remains at moderate levels. Continue use of traps
and bait.
Notes:
• Facility has approximately 650,000 birds on site.
• Mortality is incinerated on site, normally in the morning.
• Rodent bait stations were observed on site. Facility contracts with a 3'party to maintain the bait stations.
• Fly jars were observed around both the north and south units
• Fly bait was observed spread behind the packing room of the north unit.
• Houses 10 and 9 are 3 story caged houses each equipped with their own manure belt drying system.
Approximately 1/3 of the manure in the houses cycles out through the belt dryer each day.
• Houses 1 and 6 are organic cage free types and are cleaned twice a week.
• Houses 2 and 3 utilize a belt dryer which cycles out approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of the manure out of the houses
each day.
• Houses 4 and 5 are cleaned at least 3 times in a 3 day period.
• House 11 is scraped at least once a day.
• Houses 12 and 13 are currently vacant.
• Facility had more than 3 days worth of dry manure accumulated on the north side of the south unit. The dry
manure is placed on a concrete pad. No fly breeding was observed in the manure. According to facility the main
manure hauler has been delayed so a second hauler has been hauling out the manure. Generally, the dry chicken
manure is hauled out on a daily basis.
Scrape area surrounding the dry chicken manure pad to prevent chicken manure scattered around this area
from gaining moisture and providing ideal fly breeding conditions.
0 A complaint inspection was conducted on 11/7/2016 during which fly breeding and a high adult fly
population was observed on site. During this inspection, a minor amount of fly breeding was observed. Fly
population has decreased to moderate levels and facility has added fly traps and spread bait to exterminate the
adult fly population.
• Fly population at the west end of Briggs Avenue(adjacent to facility)was light. Odors were light.
• A site visit will be conducted in one week to ensure site conditions continue to improve.
