The inspection was conducted on 25 October 1999. As noted in the
enclosed inspection report,no residual cannery waste, odors, or vectors (above normal)were observed.
Additionally,with regard to the levee constructed for flood control, no organic, designated, or potentially
hazardous waste was observed.
As you are aware,your landspreading operation was inspected by the Board as a result of complaints
from surrounding property owners. In an effort to address issues of concern you agreed to:
• Submit a Management Plan describing in detail your landspreading operations including
nitrogen-loading rates for your fields, and the steps which will be taken to prevent nuisance
conditions;
• Stop placing inert debris along the banks of Indian Creek;
• Notify the Board prior to the seasonal start-up of landspreading operations;
• Allow unannounced inspections; and
• Line the silage pit before it is used for `long-term' storage of cannery waste.
To facilitate a timely response,please submit the required Management Plan by 8 December 1999. If
you have any questions,please contact me at(916) 255-1834.
avid L. ele drez, P. .
Associate Water Resour e Control Engineer
Waste Discharge to Land Unit
San Joaquin Watershed
cc list: See next page
California Environmental Protection Agency
C4 Recycled Paper
