PROPOSAL FOR DISPOSAL SITE & FEEDING OF
FOOD PROCESSING AND PACKING WASTE
• The duration of the packing waste will differ each year but will run approximately
from the first of July to the middle of October.
• The turnover of the wet waste tomatoes will be fed off within 24 hours, possible
less time due to delivery times and feeding times.
• Our security measures will be that the storage area of the wet waste tomatoes will
be put in an area that is almost '/z mule from the county road with the access road
being monitored by myself and employees. The storage site is lined with concrete
and all the fluids that the waste emits are drained directly to a waste storage pond
that is right next to it.
• The cannery mud will be applied at a rate of approximately 6 loads an acre or(90
tons)not to exceed the needs of the crops to follow. After the application of the
product, each fall we will be planting the fields to a forage mix(oats wheat &
barley). We will have the capacity to receive 12-15 loads a day during this time
period.
• The plan that we have worked out for the application of the cannery mud will be
that we will be using a drag scraper pulled by a tractor for the even distribution of
the product evenly through the ground. After the scraping we will disk the product
into the soil to incorporate it in for the mixing that is necessary to discourage the
breeding, feeding and housing of flies, rodents or any other pests. Both
procedures will be done by different tractors and we have back up equipment of
each in case of breakdowns.
• The alternate plan for the applying the cannery mud to the fields is that with the
amount of acreage available and the access roads that are there,we will be able to
receive the product with no problems the case of unseasonable weather.
• The vector control plan that we currently have in place and in the future, is using a
professional pest control company. At the present time we are using Clark out of
Ceres Ca. We also plan on feeding the waste tomatoes as quickly as possible as to
