ATTAMEM, E
CONSOLIDATED FORWARD LANDFILL PROJECT
FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL LMPACT REPORT
ERR.-*iT A
The Heading"E. Public Health and Safely" ,%vas inadvertently omitted L—om Tablell-1, p.:
11 of the FEIR.
In addition, the first paragraph under'Proposed as Part of the Project" on that page,as
well as the paragraph extending from the bottom of page 129 onto the top of p. 130,and
the first paragraph under"E.Public Health and Safety" on p. 7 of Appendix G,
Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program" in the FEIR are all corrE--ted for claritV
to read as follows;
Use a total of 17 pieces of equipment (at arry given time)over the life o-,-the project to
inininuze particulate discharge. As shcrurn in Table IV.E 1, (FEIR,p 129), the risk om
particulate—and specifically diesel fiumes—7v71 be lessened for the pro•;>_ct versus the
baseline conditions. 77w existing 28 pieces cif diesel powered landfill oFk!-rating equipu:ent
will be changed out even,j 5 years at Fore and and every 10 years at Au.:-tin, and-would be
reduced to a total of 17 pieces of equipment over a 15-year or fewer.
In addition, the last paragraph on page 128 is corrected to read as fouosti-s:
The risks are considered to be reduced in the proposed project compared to the baseline
permit conditions because: 1)A lesser amount of particulate-generating equipment used
per ton disposed of 2)Waste will be morved over a shorter period of tier-- (14 versus 30 in
fears)and daily hours of equipment option will be only slightly increased rather than
proportionally increased(10.5 versus 9.0 hours per day),and;*3) the risk protocols
evaluates exposure over a 30-year timeframe and the project would onhy result in diesel
emissions for 14 years while the continued lois-level operations ofAustin Road landfall
under existing permits would occur fur the entire 30-year exposure period.
The FEIR inadvertently had 30-year lifetimes far both'the proposed prqiect and existing
Austin Road landfill. The proposed project would have a 14-year operational lifespan.
The minutes of the San Joaquin County PLmu-ing Commission's October 3,2002 Hearing
on the Draft Environmental Impact Report (m2)for the Consolidated Forward Landfill
Project were inadvertently omitted from Section IX, Comments and Responses,of the
Final Environmental Impact Report. Those n-e=tes are attached and incorporated by
referenceinto the Final EIR as Item A(1)follo-wing page 236 of the Final EIR. Because no
environmental issues or questions are raised in the Commissioners' comments,no
response is required.
