Germ <br /> GENESIS ENGINEERING& REDEVELOPMENT <br /> Soil samples for chemical analysis will be collected from three borings. Soil from the deeper <br /> direct push boring will be collected in acrylic sleeves. At the selected depth intervals,the <br /> acrylic sleeve will be cut and sealed Teflon sheets and plastic end caps. For the hand auger <br /> borings, soil samples will be collected in brass rings. The selected brass rings will be sealed <br /> with Teflon sheets and plastic end caps. <br /> The soil samples will be placed in a chilled cooler(4° Celsius±2 degrees), transported to a <br /> State-certified laboratory under chain of custody, and analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> using USEPA Method 8015 Modified and volatile organic compounds using USEPA Method <br /> 8620B. <br /> 3.6 Waste Handling <br /> Investigation Derived Wastes ("IDW") such as asphalt, soil cuttings, decontamination <br /> rinsate, disposable personal protective equipment, sampling equipment, and other waste <br /> solids and liquids will be properly stored in U.S. DOT approved drums,pending waste <br /> characterization and classification. Drums will be appropriately labeled, and within 60 days <br /> following receipt of all waste analytical data, a request for disposal will be submitted to an <br /> appropriate landfill or other disposal facility in accordance with the waste classification. <br /> Within two weeks following receipt of written authorization of waste acceptance, all <br /> investigation-derived waste will be transported to the appropriate off-site disposal facility by <br /> a transporter meeting all certification and licensing requirements of the State of California. <br /> 3.6 Sample Handling <br /> Procedures for sample handling are outlined in this Section. Types of sample containers, <br /> sample volumes,methods of preservation and identification, sample holding times, and <br /> packaging and shipping methods are discussed. <br /> 3.6.1 Sample Labels <br /> A sample label will be completed and attached to each sample container. Labels are made of <br /> a waterproof material backed with a water-resistant adhesive. Labels will be filled out using <br /> indelible ink and will contain the following information. <br /> 1. Sample Number, <br /> 2. Date and Time that the Sample was Collected, <br /> 3. Site Name and Location, <br /> 4. Sample Preservative and <br /> 5.
