GE &
GENESIS ENGINEERING&REDEVELOPMENT
2. One reconnaissance groundwater boring(designated B-2)will be placed
down-gradient of the east end of the vehicle maintenance building (vehicle
maintenance and hazardous waste storage area).
In addition to collecting soil samples from boring B-1, two additional exploratory soil
borings will be advanced:
1. One soil boring (B-3)will be advanced at an angle beneath the area used for
storage of hazardous material; and
2. One soil boring (B-4)will be advanced near the on-site septic system.
The proposed boring locations are shown on Figure 3.
2.2 Pre-field Activities
Pre-field activities will include:
I. Obtaining access agreements from property owner and site tenant, as necessary;
2. Obtaining boring permits from San Joaquin County Department of Environmental
Health;
3. Clearing proposed boring locations of subsurface utilities and other interferences;
and
4. Administering contracts for drilling subcontractor, analytical laboratory, and
subsurface locator.
2.3 Field Investigation
The field investigation will consist of advancing two reconnaissance groundwater borings
and two soil borings at the locations shown on Figure 3. The reconnaissance groundwater
borings will be advanced using a direct-push drill rig. The soil borings will be advanced
using a hand auger. The proposed boring locations may have to be adjusted in the field based
on access issues, and surface and subsurface obstructions that are encountered. If a boring
location has to be moved,the new location will be as close as possible to the proposed
location.
3.0 FIELD PROCEDURES
All work on this project will be supervised by a California Professional Geologist.
2303 West Lane 2 of 11
Site Investigation Work Plan
May 2009
