Washington
Stockton, CA 95203
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD) has reviewed the Groundwater Investigation
Report received on July 3, 1991. Soil near the former underground
fuel storage tank was excavated and soil samples were taken at 13
feet. A "grab" water sample was also analyzed. All samples
analyzed were found to be nondetectabie for hydrocarbon
contamination.
Although there appears to be no significant soil contamination, the
quality of the groundwater beneath and downgradient from the former
underground storage tank cannot be determined from a "grab" sample.
Site certification cannot be granted without groundwater
confirmation sampling from properly constructed monitoring wells.
Upon completion of the monitoring wells (at least one well must be
placed in a downgradient direction) and confirming data, site
certification will be considered.
If you have and questions, contact Eleanor Ratliff, REHS, of my
staff at (209) 468-3454.
Jogi.
