k14 KLEINFELDER
5 GROUNDWATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS PLAN
Beginning in the third quarter 2006, groundwater monitoring in the vicinity of the
wastewater ponds will be conducted on a quarterly basis and will include the collection
and analysis of groundwater samples from the three proposed monitoring wells and the
reporting of the activities and results to Lodi Vintners for review and submittal to the
CVRWQCB. This plan addresses the groundwater sampling and analysis portion of the
groundwater monitoring requirements included in the Revised MRP No. 93-112.
5.1 FIELD ACTIVITIES
Water level measurements will be taken in each of the monitoring wells prior to each
sampling event as described in Appendix A-4.1. The monitoring wells will be allowed to
equilibrate at least 1/2 hour prior to measuring water levels. Each of the three monitoring
wells will be purged of three to five well volumes and sampled using a disposable bailer
and as generally described in Appendix A-4.2.
Purge water generated during sampling of the wells will not be contained but will be
discharged to the ground surface on site.
After collection, the three groundwater samples will be labeled, logged on a chain-of-
custody form, and immediately stored in an iced cooler. The samples will be transported
under chain-of-custody control to Kleinfelder's office and then transported by a courier to
a laboratory certified by the State of California for the requested chemical analyses.
5.2 LABORATORY ANALYSIS
The three (3) groundwater samples collected from the monitoring wells each quarter will
be submitted to a State certified laboratory and analyzed for the following:
• Nitrates as N by EPA Method 300.0
• Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen by EPA Method 300.0
• Total Dissolved Solids by EPA Method 160.1/SM 2540C
• Fixed Dissolved Solids by EPA Method 160.4
• pH by EPA Method 150.1
67451.WP1/ST06R295/FB:Iv Page 8 of 14
©2006 Kleinfelder, Inc.
