' Site Background Information Ernie's General Store <br /> • Page 3 of 3 <br /> Four ground water monitoring wells (1\4W1 through MW4) were installed on 28, 29, and 30 July <br /> 2003 and one angled soil boring [B5 (7-3-03)] was advanced on 30 July 2003 <br /> Generally, red brown to yellow brown, dry to slightly moist, clayey silts to clayey sands were <br /> I encountered from surface grade to approximately 25 feet below surface grade (bsg) Yellow brown <br /> fine sand was generally encountered between 25 feet and approximately 35 feet bsg From <br /> approximately 3 5 feet bsg to 60 feet bsg the stratigraphy is dominated by yellow brown to red brown <br /> clayey silt Yellow brown clean sand are encountered at approximately 60 feet bsg to 80 feet bsg <br /> A total of 26 soil samples from wells MW-1 through MW-4 were collected and analyzed for <br />` petroleum hydrocarbon compounds MTBE was detected in soil samples collected from,MW2-20 <br /> through MW2-50, MW3-30 , MW3-40, MW4-30 and MW4-40 at concentrations ranging from 19 <br />' mg/1 (MW2-30) to 0 050 mg/l (MW4-30) <br /> TPH-g and BTEX compounds were detected to soil samples collected from MW2-30 to MW2-50 <br /> I at maximum concentrations of 13 mgll(TPH-g,MW2-30)and 0 68 mg/1(xylenes,MW2-30) There <br /> does not appear to be significant concentrations of adsorbed petroleum hydrocarbons in the <br /> investigated areas The highest concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons were encountered in <br />�• boring B-1 and UST pit sample 2TW-15 5, both sample locations were at the western edge of the <br /> tank pit <br /> QUARTERLY GROUND WATER MONITORING <br />' Since initiation of quarterly ground water monitoring in August of 2003 a total of five events have <br /> occurred Ground water elevation has ranged from 33 to 41 feet below mean sea level (MSL) In <br /> general, ground water flows in a northernly direction <br />' Analytical results of quarterly ground water samples indicate significant concentrations of TPH-g <br /> and MTBE in samples collected from wells MW-3 and MW-4 It appears that samples collected <br />' during the December 2003 event were incorrectly labeled The analytical results for wells MW-1 <br /> through MW-4 are not consistent with later sampling events <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> 1 <br />
