i <br /> I20 February 2001 <br /> • AGE-NC Project No 99-0559 <br /> IPage 2of5 <br /> I2 2 GROUND WATER PURGING AND SAMPLING <br /> Following well purging, ground water levels from each well achieved a minimum of 80 percent <br /> recharge prior to sample collection Ground water samples were collected from the purged wells <br /> utilizing new, disposable polyethylene bailers and four 40-m1 EPA-approved volatile organic analysis <br /> (VOA)vials containing 0 5 nil 18%hydrochloric acid as a preservative Care was taken to ensure that <br /> I visible air bubbles were not present in the vials after filling and capping Ground water sample <br /> containers were labeled with the well designation, date, time, and sampler's initials <br /> 2 3 ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> Each ground water sample was logged on a chain-of-custody form, placed in a chilled container and <br /> transported to McCampbell Analytical Inc (MAI), for analysis The ground water samples were <br /> analyzed for the following <br /> I • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8015 Modified, <br /> • Volatile aromatics benzene,toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX)with methyl tertiary- <br /> butyl ether (MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8020, and <br /> i0 Fuel additives, including tertiary butanol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tert-butyl <br /> ether (ETBE) and tert-amyl methyl ether (TAME), MTBE, methanol, ethanol, ethyl- <br /> dibromide(EDS) and 1,2-dichloroethane(1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 8250 <br /> Modified <br /> 24 FREE PRODUCT REMOVAL <br /> During the quarterly monitoring and depth to water measuring in December 2000 and January 2001, <br /> free phase petroleum product was encountered at the site in ground water monitoring well MW-2 <br /> Therefore, according to California Underground Storage Tank Regulations,Article 5, Section 2555, <br /> the removal of the free product was required <br /> Measurements of free product thickness were collected from well MW-2 and the free-product and <br /> ground water from the well were manually hand bailed After removal, the water and free product <br /> were stored on-site in 55-gallon DOT H-17 storage drums Field data and logs are included with <br /> IAppendix A <br /> Advanced Ucohnvironmentai,Inc <br />
