25 January 2001 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 99-0559 <br /> Page 9 of 14 <br /> sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report of findings and <br /> recommendations <br /> 5 5 REPORT PREPARATION <br /> Following the CPT site investigation, well installations and each ground water monitoring event, a <br /> report will be prepared presenting the findings Each report will include a description of work <br /> performed and the results of the soil/groundwater sampling and analysis Conclusions and <br /> recommendations will also be included in the reports preparing the site for corrective action The <br /> report will be in a format acceptable to RWQCB guidelines, and will be reviewed and signed by a <br /> California Registered Geologist <br /> 6.0. FIELD PROCEDURES <br /> All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California <br /> • Registered Geologist Procedures for soil and ground water sampling, well installation, well <br /> development, are described below <br /> 6 1 CPT SOIL BORFNGS <br /> Each CPT soil boring will be advanced to a depth of 150 feet bsg utilizing a 25-ton truck-mounted <br /> CPT drill rig equipped with 2-inch diameter hollow-stem rods The first soil boring will utilize a <br /> hydraulic ram to advance a cone penetrometer to the desired depth Sol] parameters such as cone <br /> bearing, sleeve friction, friction ration and pore water pressure will be measured as the cone <br /> penetrometer is advanced Rrnseate generated as part of the drilling activities will be containerized <br /> in properly labeled DOT-approved 55-gallon drums and stored on-site in an area lacking public <br /> access Disposal alternatives will be evaluated at a later date based on laboratory results of rinseate <br /> samples <br /> A second soil boring will be located no more than three feet from the first CPT boring for soil and <br /> ground water sample collection Based on CPT findings, discrete soil samples will be collected at <br /> various depths between 70 and 150 feet bsg based on significant lithologic variation Soil samples <br /> will be collected utilizing a 2-inch diameter piston soil sampling assembly loaded with pre-cleaned <br /> brass sleeves Upon soil sample retrieval, a brass sleeve will be removed from the sampler The ends <br /> of the brass sleeve will be immediately covered with Teflon or aluminum sheets, sealed with plastic <br /> end caps, secured with tape and immediately placed in a chilled container for transportation to a <br /> DHS-certified laboratory Each sample sleeve will be labeled with the location, boring designation <br /> depth, time, date and sampler's initials <br /> Advanced GeoEmr3ronmental ]ne <br />
