25 January 2001 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 99-0559 <br /> Page 7 of 14 <br /> • Monitoring and sampling ground water, <br /> • Preparation of a report of findings <br /> 5 1 PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> A site assessment boring permit will be obtained from the PHS-EHD for all on-site and off-site well <br /> locations In addition encroachment permits will be obtained from the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Work Department Prior to mobilization, the soil boring locations will be clearly marked and a utility <br /> clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert <br /> 52 CPT DRILLING AND SAMPLE COLLECTION <br /> AGE proposes to drill three CPT soil borings at the site as part of the site assessment Proposed CPT <br /> soil boring locations are illustrated in Figure 2 The CPT borings will be advanced to characterize <br /> . lithology, model potential contaminant migration pathways and to assess the vertical extent of <br /> MTBE-impacted ground water Based on the distribution of MTBE encountered to date during the <br /> ongoing investigation, AGE proposes to advance the CPT soil borings in the following locations <br /> • Immediately west of the UST location, <br /> • At the southern edge site, south of soil boring B I, <br /> • At the western property edge at Chronicle Street cross gradient to down gradient of the <br /> former UST area, <br /> The three CPT borings will be advanced to approximately 150 feet bsg utilizing a 25-ton truck- <br /> mounted CPT drill rig equipped with 2-inch diameter hollow-stem rods, however, total depths of <br /> borings may vary according to hydrogeologic conditions encountered during drilling activities <br /> Grab ground water samples will be collected in multiple intervals of porous and permeable material <br /> limited soil samples may be collected at selected lithology changes Ground water and selected soil <br /> samples will be analyzed by a DHS-certified laboratory for petroleum hydrocarbons and fuel <br /> additives listed in Section 4 3 <br /> Laboratory reports for soil analysis, testing methods, laboratory QA/QC reports, and sample chain <br /> of custody documentation will be presented in a report of findings and recommendations <br /> Advttttced CeoEiivlronlnLllldl, Inc <br />
