Site Background Information Waterloo Food& Fuel <br /> AGE-NC Project No 99-0559 <br /> Page 5 of 11 <br /> • CPT-3 was sampled at 60 feet(HU2), 100 feet(HU4), 130 feet bsg(HU5U)and 150 feet bsg <br /> (HU5L) <br /> The CPT drill ng,equipped with 2-inch diameter hollow-stem rods fitted with a 1 25-Inch diameter <br /> piston soil sampling assembly loaded with a pre-cleaned brass sleeve, was used to collect soil <br /> samples from 80 feet bsg, 110 feet bsg and 135 feet bsg in the twin of boring CPT-2 <br /> The sample collected from 80 feet (CPT2-80 — HU3) contained TPH-g at 1,500 milligram per <br /> kilogram(mg/kg),BTEX compounds were detected in at concentrations as high as 210 mg/kg total <br /> xylene (benzene was at 25 mg/kg) MTBE was detected at a concentration of 820 micrograms per <br /> kilogram(µg/kg) The sample collected from 110 feet(CPT2-110—upper HU5)contained TPH-g <br /> at 4 9 mg/kg, BTEX compounds were detected in at concentrations as high as 0 53 mg/kg total <br /> toluene (benzene was at 0 18 mg/kg) MTBE was detected at a concentration of 30 gg/kg The <br /> sample collected from 135 feet (CPT2-135 —middle HU5) contained TPH-g at 2 4 mg/kg, BTEX <br /> compounds were detected in at concentrations as high as 0 51 mg/kg toluene(benzene was at 0 16 <br /> mg/kg) MTBE was detected at a concentration of 16 µg/kg <br /> • ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES APRIL 2001 <br /> A total of eleven ground water samples were collected from HU1, HU2, HU4, Upper HU5 and <br /> Lower HU5 and submitted for laboratory analysis <br /> HU 1 <br /> Samples CPT1-60 and CPT3-60 were collected from HU1, the upper most occurrence of ground <br /> water from the CPTs TPH-g and BTEX compounds were not detected in samples However,the fuel <br /> additive MTBE was detected in CPT 1-60 and CPT3-60 at a maximum concentration of 17,000 µg/1 <br /> (CPT3-60) <br /> HU4 <br /> Samples CPT1-100,CPT 1-100 and CPT3-100 were collected from HU4,the most pronounced flow <br /> unit defined at the site TPH-g was detected in samples CPT 1-70 and CPT2-100 at concentrations <br /> of 6,700µg/1 and 710µg/1,respectively The BTEX compounds were detected in samples CPT 1-100 <br /> at concentrations of 1,100 µg/1,89µg/1,410 µg/1 and 900 4g/1,respectively The BTEX compounds <br /> were detected in samples CPT2-100 at concentrations of 100 µg/1, 120 µg/1, 10 µg/1 and 47 µg/1, <br /> respectively The fuel additive MTBE was detected in CPT1-100, CPT2-100 and CPT3-100 at a <br /> maximum concentration of 870 µg/1 (CPT3-100), <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
