23 GROUND WATER TREATMENT RESULTS
The pump-and-treat system was operational during the fourth quarter 2005 Total flow(totalizer)was
recorded between 19 September 2005 and 31 December 2005 utilizing the Blue-White Industries F-
2000 flow meter(Table 2) During the reporting period the flow meter recorded a volume of 308,420
gallons or 1,167,370 liters of discharged water
2 4 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF EXTRACTION WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g, BTEX compounds and MTBE were detected in the influent samples from extraction wells
EW-1 through EW-4 Analytical results of pump-and-treat influent samples are summarized in
Table 1 The following is a summary of the detected concentrations
• 18 October Individual samples were collected from each ground water extraction well
influent stream and analyzed The highest concentration of TPH-g was detected in the sample
collected from well EW-2,at 180,000µg/1 The highest concentrations of BTEX compounds
detected were 33,000 µg/l benzene,38,000µg/1 toluene,5,000 µg/1 ethylbenzene and 21,000
µg/l xylenes(all from EW-2) MTBE concentrations ranged between 2,000µg/1(EW-3)and
37,000 µg/l (EW-2)
• 28 November Individual samples were collected from ground water extraction wells EW-2,
EW-3 and EW-4 Influent streams, and the combined influent stream, and analyzed The
highest concentration of TPH-g was detected In the sample collected from well EW-4, at
190,000 µg/l The highest concentrations of BTEX compounds detected were 48,000 µg/l
benzene (EW-4), 33,000µg/l toluene (EW-2), 7,500 µg/1 ethylbenzene (EW-4) and 27,000
µg/1 xylenes(EW-4) MTBE concentrations ranged between 2,300 µg/1(EW-3)and 62,000
µg/1 (EW-2)
• 20 December Individual samples were collected from each ground water extraction wells
EW-2, EW-3 and EW-4 Influent streams, and the combined Influent stream, and analyzed
The highest concentration of TPH-g was detected In the sample collected from well EW-2,
at 270,000 µg/1 The highest concentrations of BTEX compounds detected were 41,000 µg/1
benzene(EW-2),91,000µg/l toluene(EW-2), 10,000 gg/l ethyl-benzene(EW-2)and 61,000
µg/l xylenes (EW-2) MTBE concentrations ranged between 7,500 µg/l(EW-3) and 63,000
µg11 (EW-2) 26 May An Influent stream sample was collected and analyzed The
concentration of TPH-g was 36,000 µg/1 The concentrations of BTEX compounds detected
were 5,500 µg/1 benzene, 6,900µg11 toluene, 1,700 µg/1 ethylbenzene and 11,000 µg/l
