05 March 2004
AGE-NC Project No 99-0559
• Over the two quarters of the reporting period, the highest concentrations of petroleum
' hydrocarbons detected at the site were present in the ground water samples collected from
wells screened In HU1 and HU2 at the UST area In addition, high concentrations of
petroleum hydrocarbon compounds were detected at all sample depths in well MW-7
' a The concentrations of TPH-g appeared to decreased overall, except in the sample from well
MW-6A Also the concentrations of BTEX compounds and MTBE decreased or remained
' essentially unchanged, except in well MW-6 which indicted an increase m BTEX compounds
and MTBE concentrations
' • Overall lower concentrations of TPH-g and BTEX compounds were detected in well MW-8
relative to the previous quarter
• TBA, TAME and 1,2-DCA were detected in samples from the former UST area, and down-
gradient of the UST area
• The vertical extend of impacted ground water, at the former UST area, has not been defined
' at the site The lateral extent of shallow impacted ground water towards the west and
southwest, down-gradient of the UST area, has not been defined The vertical extent of
impacted ground water at the western and southern edge of the site are defined, by well
MW-5 and to a lesser degree by MW-6
' 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
IBased on the findings and conclusions in this report, AGE recommends the following
• Continue quarterly ground water monitoring, the next quarterly monitoring event is scheduled
for March 2004
• Installation of additional monitoring CPT soil and ground monitoring points west and
southwest of the site to define the lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbons-impacted ground
' water
• Installation of additional shallow to intermediate depth ground water extraction wells on the
southern margin of the site, to work with ground water extraction system to minimize the
lateral migration of petroleum hydrocarbons-impacted ground water
I
IAdvanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
