05 March 2004
AGE-NC Project No 99-0559
1 Page 4 of I 1
' 3.0. FINDINGS
Groundwater elevation, flow direction and gradient were determined from field data collected during
' the second- and third-quarter monitoring events, the contaminant impact to ground water was
quantified by laboratory analysis of the ground water samples
3 1 GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT
' The elevation of ground water in each monitoring well, during each monitoring event, was calculated
by subtracting the depth to ground water from the surveyed casing elevation, current and historical
ground water elevation results are provided in Table 1 Each ground water elevation is grouped
' according to the HU or HUs that the well samples,on the assumption that the elevation will reflect
hydrostatic conditions within the sampled HUs Ground water elevation data from wells which
exhibited residual free-petroleum product, was not for the ground water flow and gradient
' calculation
Second Quarter Monitoring Event
' HU 1 and HU2
The depth to ground water from monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-4 and MW-5A through
IMW-SA ranged from 57 52 to 58 81 feet below casing grade
Ground water elevation data collected from monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-4, and MW-5A
through MW-8A ranged between 32 72 feet(MW-4) and 33 67 feet(MW-2)below mean sea level
(MSL) Ground water elevation increased approximately 0 85 feet over the last quarter The top of
the ground water table was within the screened intervals of the wells
At the time of the May 2003 monitoring event, the potentiometric surface based on HU1 and HU2
wells inferred that a east flowing ground water flow direction from the site to the east at well MW-8
with hydraulic gradient of 0 004 feet (Figure 3)
HU3 and HU4
In the wells representing HU3 and HU4, the depth to ground water ranged from 57 60 to 58 40 feet
below casing grade Ground water elevation data collected from monitoring wells MW-513 through
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
