23 July 2015
AGE Project No. 15-3320
SV1 and SV2. Based on these conclusions, AGE recommended that additional borings
be advanced adjacent to borings SV1 and SV2 for collection of soil samples.
SCOPE OF WORK
Based on analytical data from soil-vapor sampling performed at the site in June 2015,
AGE is proposing to advance a total of two soil borings at the subject site for collection
of soil samples. The proposed scope of work will include the following tasks:
• Permitting and pre-field work activities;
• Soil boring advancement and sample collection; and
• Report preparation.
Each of these tasks is described in greater detail below.
PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained from the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department. In addition, a health and safety plan will be updated
in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous
Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 1985).
Prior to mobilization, each proposed boring location will be clearly marked and a utility
clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert.
SOIL BORING ADVANCEMENT
A total of two soil borings (B1 and 132) will be advanced adjacent to borings SV1 and
SV2 (Figure 2) utilizing a track mounted drilling rig equipped with 8-inch diameter hollow
stem augers. The soil borings will be advanced to maximum depths of 50 feet below
surface grade (bsg) for soil sample collection.
Soil samples will be collected from the borings at five-foot intervals between 5 and 50
feet bsg. However, field personnel may adjust the frequency and method of sampling in
consultation with an AGE Professional Geologist.
Procedures for advancement of soil borings and sampling are presented below.
Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Public
Health (CDPH)-certified laboratory for the following constituents:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with
