This letter responds to SJCPHS's requested modifications to the workplan presented as <br /> comments and conditions. Rather than recreate the workplan, this letter will serve as an <br /> addendum to the workplan and will supersede the workplan in regards to topics mentioned below. <br /> Comments and Conditions <br /> In regards to the construction of new monitor wells,Blaes Environmental will construct one well <br /> at each proposed location (see attached Figure [Attachment IJ)with two, 2-inch casings. Each <br /> casing will have no more than 20 feet of screen. The proposed well construction diagram is <br /> included as Attachment 2. <br /> In order to establish a control point between monitor wells MW-4 and MW-7, Blaes <br /> Environmental plans to position proposed well MW-10 (cluster well) along the property <br /> boundary near the propane tank (Attachment 1). This well will be constructed as shown in <br /> Attachment 2. <br /> Selected soil samples from the borings of the proposed air sparge well,proposed vapor extraction <br /> well,and/or the proposed monitor wells will be additionally analyzed for methanol (using EPA <br /> Method 8015m), ethanol, 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB), and Lead. <br /> The selection of soil samples for analyses will be based on the depth of previous soil analytical <br /> data indicating elevated hydrocarbon concentrations,soil type,and sample recovery. <br /> During quarterly groundwater monitoring, at least one selected groundwater sample per quarter <br /> will be analyzed for methanol, ethanol, 1,2-DCA, EDB, and Lead in addition to the usual <br /> analyses. <br /> 1433 North Third Avenue,Phoenix,Arizona 85003 <br /> Telephone: (602)728-0707 Fax: (602)728-0708 <br />
