Blaes Environmental Management Inc U Haul#709 50 <br /> 1 002-70950-04 2nd Qtr 2003 Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> 6,2 VO 3 <br /> The laboratory analysis of for fuel additives (MTBE, TBA, DIPE, ETBE, and TAME) yielded <br /> concentrations above laboratory reporting limits in samples from wells MW-1B, MW-6C, MW-7C, and <br /> I <br /> MW-8C Analytical results of the groundwater samples collected from wells MW-213 and MW-2C <br /> (analyzed by EPA Method 8260 full list) indicated detections of BTEX, 1,2,4-Trimethylbenzene, and <br /> 1,3,5-Trimethylbenzne Refer to the analytical report included in Appendix C for details <br /> 1 <br /> Based on the May 2003 analytical results, there appears to be limited communication between the "B" <br /> and "C" horizons The LNAPL such as TPH and BTEX, appears to be concentrated in the "B" horizon <br /> while the heavier DNAPL such as 1,2 DCA, has penetrated more extensively into the "C"horizon <br /> 1 <br /> 3 4 PURGE WATER TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL <br /> Purged groundwater generated during groundwater sampling activities at the site was stored in a 1,000- <br /> gallon polyethylene tank located on the west side of the U-Haul building Blaes Environmental <br /> contracted Integrated Waste Management (IWM) to drain the purge water from the tank and transport it <br /> to a proper disposal facility IWM removed the purge water on May 23, 2003 A certificate of disposal <br /> is presented in Appendix D <br /> 3 5 DRINKING WATER WELL SURVEY 2000 FOOT RADIUS <br /> Blaes Environmental requested a drinking water well survey with a 2,000-foot radius from the State of <br /> California Department of Water Resources (DWR) in March 2003 and from Environmental Data <br /> Resources (EDR) in May 2003 The results of the DWR survey indicated 14 well drillers reports on file <br /> within the requested radius, and the EDR survey results indicated two locations within the requested <br /> radius from Federal USGS Well Information and five locations from State Database Well Information <br /> A vicinity map showing the locations of these wells is included with the drinking water well survey <br /> results in Appendix E <br /> 10 <br />
