' Blaeg Environmental Management Inc U-Haul#709-50
002-70950-Oa Groundwater Monrtonng Report JJ
09/09/02 I
4
1
4 0 CONCLUSIONS
' Blaes Environmental conducted a groundwater monitoring and sampltng event at U-Haul facility#709-50
on June 25, 26, and 27, 2002 In general, groundwater levels in June 2002 were approximately 5 5 feet
lower than the March 2002 monitoring event Based on the groundwater level measurements from both
"B" and "C" casing wells, the groundwater surface map for June 2002 indicates a slight flow gradient
' toward the east
' Analytical results of groundwater samples collected in June 2002 from both `B" and "C" casing wells
indicated the presence of hydrocarbons in groundwater Results of samples collected from the "B"
' casing wells revealed that the main portion of the hydrocarbon plume (benzene concentrations greater
than 10,000 gg/L) is located around wells MW-2B and MW 3B Results of samples collected from the
' "C" casing wells revealed higher hydrocarbon concentrations near wells MW-4C and MW-6C Neither
groundwater samples from the "B" nor "C" casing wells were found to have reportable levels of fuel
' additives
With the incorporation of monitor well MW-10 into the groundwater sample group, the extent of
hydrocarbons in groundwater were better defined to the south during the June 2002 sampling event
Analysts of samples collected from the "B" and "C" casings at MW-10 indicated non-detectable results
These results are significant because the hydrocarbon plume centered at the U-Haul property is now
identified to be separate from the hydrocarbon plume emanating from the property on the south side of
' North Wilson Way(near well MW-7)
i
1
9
