' with regulatory requirements and/or the regulatory well permits issued for each well
s
' 322 Groundwater MQnjtor ell Development
Upon installation of each well casing and the sand pack, Gregg Drilling will develop each well by
' surging and bailing Surging and bailing will settle and clean the sand pack before the seal and grout are
added to the annulus Further development will involve pumping each well until clear water can be
pumped from the well at various depths Blaes will record well installation activities including final well
construction details and observations of surging, bailing, and pumping
' Final completion of each well will be flush with the ground surface with a traffic rated well vault A
licensed land surveyor will "tie in" each well with the existing monitor wells by measuring the well head
' elevation from the north side of each well casing
323
' Groundwater samples will be collected from the newly installed groundwater monitoring wells at a
minimum of one week after completion In addition, a total of one duplicate, one equipment blank, and
' one trip blank sample will be collected for quality assurance purposes Prior to sampling, each well will
be gauged, purged, and gauged again to ensure that groundwater has recovered to within 80 percent of its
original level Groundwater samples will be contained in laboratory provided containers per the
specified analysis Samples will be stored on ice and shipped under strict chain-of-custody protocol to
the state-certified laboratory for analysis A description of groundwater monitoring and sampling
' procedures is provided in Appendix B
324 LALQratory A lysisSamples
Up to eight groundwater samples, one duplicate, one equipment blank and one trip blank will be
analyzed at a state-certified analytical laboratory for the following constituents BTEX, fuel additives and
' oxygenate compounds, including TBA, MTBE, DIPS, ETBE and TAME, using EPA Method 8260 Each
sample will be analyzed on a normal turnaround time basis (10 to 14 working days) The laboratory
' analytical report provided by the laboratory will be included with the final report
3 3 WASTE MANAGEMENT
1 Waste generated during the course of additional site characterization activities will include 1) soil
cuttings generated during well installation activities and 2) purged groundwater generated during
' development and purging of the monitor wells Blaes plans to contain soil cuttings using a 20-yard
capacity roll-off bin The roll-off bin and soil will remain on-site until the soil is profiled for disposal
' 8
