Purging by Pumping utilized a Gruinfosi� 1 5-nick diameter submeisiUle pump, hose, and control box <br /> The pump was decontaminated before and after use with a liquid Alconox1� detergent wash, a tap water <br /> rinse, and a Final rinse with deionized water The pump vas typically lowered to appro\imately the <br /> middle of the screen interval of the well Appioximately thice well volumes of groundwater were <br /> pumped from the wells During purging, the above-mentioned groundwater parameters were recorded on <br /> a data sheet The data sheet also included start and stop time of pumping along with the total volume of <br /> purged groundwater Purge watet was temporarily stored in a 55-gallon drum and later transferred into <br /> the on-site polyethylene tank <br /> Groundwater Sampling <br /> Groundwater samples were collected at each monitoring well using a new polyethylene, disposable bailer <br /> The groundwater recovered with the bailer was transferred into laboratory-supplied sample containers as <br /> needed per each analytical method Upon collection, the sample date, time, and identification were <br /> written on the containers and on a chain-of-custody The sample containers were then placed in a sample <br /> cooler containing ice and transported, under strict chain-of-custody protocol, to the state-certified <br /> analytical laboratory for analysis <br /> • <br /> 2 <br />
