BtaeS Env:ronmenlal Management,Inc 002-70950-03 U-Haul#709-50 Groundwater Monitoring Report 8/13/01 to accommodate the higher groundwater levels With the additional monitor wells, wells at the site are • now screened across three depth intervals These depth intervals include "lower" (C) well casings screened at depths ranging from approximately CO to 100 feet below ground surface (bgs), "middle" (B) well casings screened at depths ranging from approximately 45 to 77 feet bgs, and "upper" (A) well casings screened at depths ranging from approximately 23 to 62 feet bgs These screened intervals accommodate fluctuations in groundwater depth that have ranged from approximately 45 to 90 feet bgs since 1993 (SOTA, 1997) Monitor well construction information is summarized in Table 1 ' 2 4 PREVIOUS RESULTS Previous work performed by Blaes Environmental included two quarters of groundwater monitoring ' completed in December 2000 and March 2001 These two quarterly groundwater monitoring events included sample collection from all possible monitoring points The list of well casings available for ' groundwater monitoring and sampling is provided in Table 1 ' 2 4 1 Previous Groundwater Level Measurements Previous groundwater Ievel measurements indicated an increase in water levels from December 2000 to ' March 2001 Groundwater level measurements recorded in December 2000 ranged from 45 52 feet bgs at MW-7 to 48 92 feet bgs at MW-6 Groundwater level measurements recorded in March 2001 ranged ' from 45 05 feet bgs at MW-7 to 47 31 feet bgs at MW-2 No free-phase hydrocarbons were observed during collection of groundwater Ievel measurements in December 2000 or March 2001 The average groundwater flow direction in December 2000 was toward the north with an estimated ' hydraulic gradient of 0 0012 feet/foot The groundwater flow direction in March 2001 was inconclusive since the groundwater surface was relatively flat i ' 2 4 2 Previous Groundwater Sample Analytical Results ' 2421 December 2000 Sampling Event The December 2000 groundwater sampling event included the middle "B" casing and lower "C" casing ' samples plus two samples from monitor wells MW-3A and MW-5A Laboratory analytical results of the December 2000 sampling event revealed variable results between depth interval groups ("B" casing i ' 4
