1WingSeptember 2000
On March 21 and 22, 2001, Blaes Environmental collected 17 groundwater samples from the monitor
well casings associated with the site Purging techniques employed during this sampling event included
only bailing No pumping was used for sample collection The purged water was transferred from five-
gallon buckets to an on-site 1,000-gallon polyethylene storage tank Approximately three well volumes
of groundwater were purged from the wells and periodic parameter readings were recorded on the field
' data sheets included in Appendix D
' 3.2.2.1r —March 2001
Following purging, groundwater samples were collected from the on-site groundwater wells using new
' polyethylene disposable bailers Prior to sample collection, the depth to groundwater was measured to
confirm that the groundwater level had recovered to within 90% of its original level The water level
' measurements, sample name, time, and sample containers were recorded on a sample data sheets included
in Appendix D
Groundwater samples collected at the esite were contained in appropriate sample containers supplied by
• Del Mar Analytical Following collection, the groundwater samples were placed in an iced cooler and
transported, under proper chain-of-custody record,to Del Mar Analytical for analysis
3.2.2.2 Groundwater SampleAnatmis—March 2001
The groundwater samples were analyzed for TPHg and TPHd using EPA Method 8015M, and BTEX,
MTBE, TBA, DIPE, ETBE, and TAME according to EPA Method 8260B The chain-of-custody
document indicates the analysis for each sample collected at the site
3.2.3 Groundwater Anal ical Results—March 2001
ILaboratory analytical results from the March 2001 groundwater sampling event indicate that groundwater
beneath the site contains hydrocarbons at variable concentrations A summary of analytical results for the
' March 2001 sampling event is presented in Table 3 A copy of the corresponding laboratory analytical
report and chain-of-custody documentation is provided in Appendix E
07/10/01
Blaes Project#002-70950-02 12 bjm C 1BLAESIU-HauI\70950170950r101 doc
