19 May 2005
AGE-NC Project No. 02-0926
• One CPT east of MW-2 in the west sidewalk or parking lane of the Frontage Road,to define
the lateral and vertical extent of hydrocarbons-impacted ground water in the contemporary
down gradient direction.
At the CPT locations, one of the CPT borings will be a cone penetrometer test to help determine
lithology and flow units; CPT advancement and testing procedures are outlined in Section 3.1.. A
second (and possibly multiple borings if warranted to prevent or reduce cross-contamination
possibilities), adjacent boring(s) will be advanced to collect water and or soil samples from the
boring in the former UST release area at key depth locations, generally below and above water baring
units. Water and soil samples will be selected based on interpretation of lithologic data from the
initial CPT boring, with the objective of ground water sampling in significant hydrogeologic units.
Ground water sampling procedures are outlined in Section 3.2. and soil sampling procedures are
described in Section 3.3.. Selected ground water and soil samples will be analyzed by a State of
California Department of Health Services(DHS)-certified laboratory for the following constituents:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified at gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d) in
accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified; and
• Benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and total xylenes (BTEX) and the fuel additives tertiary
butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether(DIPE), methyl-tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE), ethyl
tertiary butyl ether(ETBE),tertiary amyl methyl ether(TAME), 1,2 dibromoethane (EDB)
and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA)by EPA Method 8260B.
Laboratory reports for ground water analysis, testing methods and laboratory quality assurance /
quality control (QA/QC), and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report
with findings and recommendations.
2.3. REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of field work and receipt of final laboratory analysis, a report will be prepared
presenting the findings of the investigation. The report will include a description of the work
performed and results of the sampling and analysis. Conclusions, applicable recommendations, maps
and cross-sections will be included in the report. The report will be in a format acceptable to the
EHD and CVRWQCB, and will be reviewed and signed by a California Professional Geologist.
Advanced GeoEnviroumental,Inc.
