This case does not meet all of the required criteria of the Policy.
Highlights of the case follow:
This Site is an empty lot and former commercial petroleum fueling facility. An unauthorized
release was reported in February 1989. Unknown volume of impacted soil was excavated and
disposed offsite in 1989. Soil vapor extraction was conducted between September 2004 and
March 2014, which reportedly removed 24,696 pounds of total petroleum hydrocarbons as
gasoline (TPHg). The rate of TPHg extraction in March 2014 was 1 pound per day.
Groundwater extraction was conducted between November 2004 and March 2014, which
removed 6 million gallons of contaminated groundwater including 1,429 pounds of TPHg. Since
1995, ten groundwater monitoring and five remediation wells have been installed and
monitored. According to groundwater data, water quality objectives have not been achieved.
The petroleum release is limited to the soil and shallow groundwater. According to data
available in GeoTracker, there are no public water supply wells or surface water bodies within
250 feet of the projected plume boundary. No other water supply wells have been identified
within 250 feet of the projected plume boundary in files reviewed. The unauthorized release is
located within the service area of a public water system, as defined in the Policy. The affected
shallow groundwater is not currently being used as a source of drinking water, and it is highly
FELICIA MARCUS,CXA,R i THOMAS HOWARD,EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
1001 1 Street,Sacramento,CA 85814 1 Mailing Address:P.O.Box 10D,Sacramento,Ca 95812-0100 I www waterboardscagov
t'j nenrc LFo RAReR
